Against Conscription
A reintroduction of conscription would be un-American and a disaster. By: Mason Letteau Stallings.
For one reason or another, conscription has been in the news recently. In the past few years, several European countries have reintroduced some form of “national service,” with Latvia doing so in 2023 and Croatia doing so earlier this year. More notably, there have been growing discussions and proposals to impose similar conscription in larger Western European countries, such as the hapless Conservative Party government in Britain in 2024, or the increasing possibility of Germany reintroducing a draft. While it is somewhat unsurprising that this would be discussed in Europe, given the anti-Russian obsession of the European elite, similar proposals have been raised in the U.S.
